August 25, 2025 Touchstone Theatre

On MONDAY, SEPT 15  playwright Frances Končan joins Artistic Director Lois Anderson at the Vancouver Public Library for a conversation on Women of the Fur Trade, a witty, time-bending satire of the Red River Resistance told through the voices of three powerful women. Blending sharp humour, pop-culture references and incisive historical commentary, the play flips colonial, male-centric narratives to centre women’s voices. Končan’s storytelling power has carried the work from its Toronto Fringe Festival debut to Stratford Festival success, and it has now become one of the most widely produced plays in Canada. You can catch the play at the Frederic Wood Theatre, September 24 – October 4.

STORYLINES invites audiences into the creative worlds of Canada’s leading playwrights through a series of rich conversations presented by Touchstone Theatre and the Vancouver Public Library.
